Why We Started Parents Driving Change
Parents Driving Change was born from a simple but powerful belief: strong communities start with everyday leaders — parents, caregivers, and families — who believe they can make a difference.
When I first met Barbara Leavitt, she introduced me to a new way of thinking — where families weren’t just passive recipients of support, but active leaders in building the communities they needed. Having personally experienced times when I needed the support of my community, I knew firsthand how critical it is for parents to find their voice, trust it, and lead.
Together, as parents, performance consultants, organizational leaders, and community advocates, we built Parents Driving Change to inspire self-efficacy, empower women and families, and create real collaboration between organizations and the people they serve.
Our goal is simple: to help everyday leaders discover their strengths, become actively engaged in their lives, and drive positive change — at home, in communities, and beyond.
