Whitney jumps into the car:

“Mom, the weirdest thing happened today.”

“oh ya?   What?”

“Well, I was sitting in class and this boy leaned over  and said something, but I couldn’t understand him.”

“So what do you think he said?”

“I didn’t know, so I said ‘what?'”

He leaned in closer and mumbled again, ‘that’s hot’

I was pretty stumped, and didn’t know what he was talking about.  Once again I asked, “what?”

Then he pointed to my wrist and said ‘that’s hot.” and walked away to sit down a few seats away.

I looked down, still confused and realized he was talking about the mark my rubber bands had made on my wrist, because they had been there so long.

Mom, boys are weird.
