This is my nephew Carter, sitting in the co-pilot’s chair of the airplane on the way to Disney World! Can I just tell you that life is good. Life is beautiful.
The “Make A Wish” foundation has granted this little boy’s wish, along with his friend and family’s dreams. Can I even try to explain the happiness it brings me to see him so happy? My brother Scott, and my sister in law Amy are a.m.a.z.i.n.g. parents and deserve this break more than anyone I know.
Thank you to the many families that visited the donation box of this young man, to raise money for Carter. Thank you to “make a wish”, for giving and changing lives. Especially the lives of some very brave kids that are facing unbelievably hard things.
Here is the thing.
We are all going through hard things.
Some are visible.
Some are not.
We need to give people the gift,
of blind understanding.
We don’t need to know the whole story,
to show love and compassion.
We’ve got what it takes,
but it will take everything we’ve got.
To be Kind. To be Patient.
We are more alike than different.
There are times I do pretty well at this, and other times I fail. Let’s recommit together to love and support each other. People we know, and people we don’t know. We are all in this together. Through the sacrifices of many people who put in loads of hours (and it probably makes them tired and ornery sometimes), little Carter is having the time of his life.
Thank you.
Life is Good.
